By Car or Bike

If coming from the A171 (North), follow the road until you see the legendary view of Whitby. Follow the A171 until you get to the B1460 then stay on it until Upgang Lane, turn right onto Crescent Avenue and we are just at the top of Crescent Avenue on the right hand side, directly opposite the leisure centre car park and next door to the Royal Mail sorting office.

If coming from the A171 (South East), follow the coast road North from Scarborough. Stay on this road until you get to the B1460 then stay on it until Upgang Lane, turn right onto Crescent Avenue and we are just at the top of Crescent Avenue on the right hand side, directly opposite the leisure centre car park and next door to the Royal Mail sorting office.

If coming from the A64, take the A169 from Malton, continue through Pickering and then across the Moors. Stay on the A169 all the way down Blue Bank, through Sleights, and up the other side of the valley until you reach the roundabout connecting you with the A171. Follow the A171 until you get to the B1460 then stay on the B1460 until Upgang Lane. Turn right onto Crescent Avenue and we are just at the top of Crescent Avenue on the right hand side, directly opposite the leisure centre car park and next door to the Royal Mail sorting office.

By Train

Most mainline trains come via Middlesbrough. It is best to check the timetable at thetrainline.com.

There is a steam train service across the moors from Pickering to Grosmont during peak season. You will need to change at Grosmont and catch another train into Whitby. You can check schedules and booking information at nymr.co.uk.

By Bus

From all directions except the North (Scarborough, Bridlington, Leeds, York, Malton etc), use the Coastliner service. Please check schedules and availability at coastliner.co.uk.

From the North, come to Middlesbrough, then use either the X56 or 93 bus services to Whitby. The X56 runs along the coast road. The 93 comes across inland.
